Pilot: GP trainee deep end placements 2016

Looking for an interesting and exciting experience during your final months of being a GP trainee?

We would like to invite you to participate in an exciting pilot project to help you learn about caring for vulnerable patients in areas of high deprivation. We are setting up placements in fantastic practices working in some of West Yorkshire’s most challenging areas.

If you decide you would like to participate, you will be offered access learning materials about caring for vulnerable groups and health inequity and have the opportunity to spend 4 sessions in a “Deep End” general practice and associated voluntary sector organisations.

We hope this will inspire you and help you care for vulnerable patients wherever you end up working after your CCT.

This placement would be particularly beneficial for trainees who have not worked in deprived areas to date and want to gain some experience of inner city “deep end” practice.

Please email me at: tom.ratcliffe@yh.hee.nhs.uk if you would be interested in taking part. We will then send you further details of the placement and the permissions you need from your clinical supervisor, training programme directors and indemnity organisation in order to participate.

Futher details about the placement are available here.
